Sophie Leonard
Registered Manager – Cambridge
We popped over to the Cambridge branch last week to have a catch up with our Care Manager, Sophie about her time at LilyRose and her thoughts on the future of LilyRose
When did you start your journey with LilyRose?
Started working in care at the age of 16 I started as a domestic assistant and worked my way through every job role except in the kitchen I’m no good at making food just eating food 🙂 I love working with elderly and making a difference every single day if I can make one person smile I know I’ve made a difference.
How would you describe your journey so far?
I joined lilyrose at the end of May 2023. I joined as a care-coordinator and progressed to registered manager.
How would you describe your team?
At the beginning it was difficult as when I joined, we had no manager, so I was trying to juggle everything making sure standards were met and we were compliant but once I knew the systems and the clients this became easy. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my amazing team.
What are your wishes for the future of LilyRose?
I hope Each and every team member knows how much I appreciate them individually as well as a team. They all go above and beyond I wouldn’t change any of them. They don’t just provide care they will go that extra mile nothing is to much. They all work so hard even in the most stressful situation. We get great feedback and they are always referred to as ‘amazing, gold dust, wonderful’
What are your aspirations for the future?
I really hope we can keep expanding the Cambridge branch which we have managed to do rapidly in the last few months.
What do you like to do to unwind?
To continue to build good relationships with professionals, maintain a good reputation and I enjoy spending time with my family. Having a nice hot bubble bath and strolling through holidays dreaming I was there
Where is your favorite place to visit?
We went to Mexico Cancun last year and it’s definitely my favourite place I’m hoping to visit some more places so maybe a new place will come across. also like Mablethorpe.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself
I only eat Cadbury cholcoale and I will know the difference if it’s is something different.
What is your favorite song to dance to?
Honesty nothing, I can’t dance so I just copy everyone else. I can manage the Macarena or cha cha slide.
And lastly –
If I pulled up next to you at the traffic lights, what song would you be singing along to loudly in your car?
I would be listening to dad cop which isn’t even a real song but it’s from the rookie and I just have it in my head all the time
